Ayako, a former secretary to the young third-generation president but now living as his wife, has long suffered from childlessness. Shigeru, the second president and father-in-law, who lives with his son and who desperately wants to see his grandchildren, presses his son to divorce and remarry another woman, but his son refuses to accept this and tells his father that he strongly desires to continue his marriage with Ayako. Shigeru's hatred for his wife, Ayako, has become so intense that he begins to bully her in a vile manner.
