A young wife, Noria, is married to Makoto, a section manager at a listed company, who was introduced to her by a relative. Although he was a year older than her, she fell in love with him at first sight, partly because of his resemblance to her late brother. They now live a modest but happy life. Then one day, absurdity suddenly strikes. Thinking of having a child, she puts away her savings little by little and moves into a slightly larger apartment, but it turns out to be a hellish place with a yakuza gangster's office next door.
